Semi is a most special dog.   He is 10 and while blind since he was 5, still enjoys all the wonders of life!  Meeting a new friend, high-fives, sitting in his favorite place in front of the fireplace, off leash walks with Mom and sniffing for anything new in the air!  I was so honored to be able to capture him in so many of his favorite activities and places.    During his off-leash walks he checks in with Mom with a gentle touch of her hand. One of the last photos I took during our time together caught this simple gesture and the love between them really moved me.

As these images were a surprise present for Mila’s Dad, I did not post these images last year.  But I sure loved them!  Mila is all heart and goofy love, from her smile to her funny sit to always checking back in with us when off leash.  Mom is a beauty too – inside and out.  I love being able to capture the relationship between a  beloved pet and owner – and to be able to do this in a beautiful setting is just icing on the cake!

My last shoot of 2012 was these beauties!  They are two year old brothers.   Barnum (ears up) was the outgoing, fun loving rascal.  Bailey (ears down) was his shy, reserved brother.  Took some loving and coaxing for Bailey to be comfortable with the studio lights and then all was good!  At a combined weight of around 250 pounds, that is a studio record!

PUPPY MURPHY!

12/16/2012

I love puppies and I love Golden Retrievers – so when Murphy came I was in heaven!  He reminds me so much of my Jack.  What a ham too.  Don’t you just love puppy ears??

Henry came all the way from Palo Alto for a combined studio and outdoor session.  At 12 years old, this might have been a lot to ask.  But what a champ!  I fell in love with him and especially those ears!   Loved following the sun down and capturing some beautiful skies!

Mea (Grammy), Bo (her son) and Cash (her grandson) all came for their own special photo shoot!  Bo (all black) was a little shy, Mea was calm and sweet, Cash was all business!  What fun it was capturing their beautiful faces and it was especially fun taking pictures of all three together!

Mr. Hunk of Burning Love is a very special dog. He is one of a very limited number of dogs chosen to father CCI litters. CCI, or Canine Companions for Independence® provides highly-trained assistance dogs for children and adults with disabilities, free of charge. No wonder he was so easy to love!

This handsome little dude came in for both studio and outdoor shots.  He is a big doggie in a little doggie body.  So full of fun and mischief!  And can he ever jump!   I love outdoor shoots when we can follow the sun down and get beautiful sunsets!

I could not get over the beautiful expressions and head tilts that lovely Charlotte provided all through this shoot!  She is so dignified and beautiful!
